Baked Apples with Farmer Cheese
Makes 4 baked apples
INGREDIENTS:
4 Large tart apples, such as Granny Smith
4 teaspoons butter
1 cup (225 grams) farmer cheese
Handful of chopped walnuts
Handful of raisins
3 Tablespoons (45 milliliters) honey
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 375 F/190 C. Cut apple tops and bottoms off and carefully core them with a spoon, being careful not to break the apples. Grease a medium baking dish with about a teaspoon of butter and arrange the cored apples in it. Set aside.
2. Make the filling: Combine the farmer cheese, chopped nuts, raisins, and honey in a small bowl. Spoon even portions of the filling into each apple.
3. Place the filled apples in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until soft. The baking time will vary depending on the type and size of the apples.
